Relentless Beats Partners with iHeartRaves to Donate 10,000 Surgical Masks

Relentless Beats & iHeartRaves Donate 10,000 Masks

Phoenix, AZ – As the World continues to navigate its way through a COVID-19 climate, Relentless Beats and iHeartRaves have come together for some goodwill on behalf of the entertainment community. Initially approached by iHeartRaves looking to do good in the Phoenix Community, Relentless Beats tapped Gila River Heath Care as the recipient of 10,000 FDA approved, triple-layer disposable surgical masks for their essential and frontline workers.

“We have made great strides in our fight against COVID-19, we are committed to our efforts, and we will continue to move forward as we work to contain this disease,” says GRHC interim chief executive officer Dr. Anthony Santiago “Relentless Beats and iHeartRaves have been extraordinarily generous with their donation, and we thank them for their generosity and support. This donation will further assist our employees and, in particular, our frontline workers who continue to provide care for our patients.”

The donation and partnership is a bright light on an otherwise uncertain horizon for the music industry, which faces the challenge of trying to find a new balance both in venues, as well as large format festivals for which Relentless Beats has become known. With a successful Road Rave drive-in music festival in its rearview mirror and a return to events just on the horizon, Arizona’s leading dance music and EDM promoter remains vigilant in its pledge to find new ways in which to bring fans together in a safe and socially responsible way.

Road Rave Arizona May 30

Phoenix, AZ – Carnage, Relentless Beats, and Medium Rare have partnered to announce North America’s first-ever drive-in festival of the COVID era, THE ROAD RAVE. The ROAD RAVE is set to make history on May 30th from 7-11pm in Phoenix, Arizona, featuring superstar DJ’s Carnage; Hulk Gang (4B & Valentino Khan); SayMyName; Dr Fresch b2b BIJOU, and Paz. [Editor’s note: see updated below about additional date]. With no plans for traditional live events in the foreseeable future, Carnage’s revolutionary concept blends a traditional drive-in movie with Carnage’s festival series RARE. This event, unlike a conventional drive-in movie, will bring a full festival main stage production to life while viewers can safely party from their parked vehicles. Capacity is limited to 500 cars, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 people per vehicle. Rideshare vehicles and busses are not permitted at this time. Concessions will be available to order online with direct delivery to each vehicle. Masks are heavily encouraged to be worn at all times. Social distancing will be enforced with strict guidelines and restrictions on when attendees are allowed to safely leave their vehicles. In addition to providing a unique drive-in concert event for dance music fans, Carnage is going to donate a portion of the proceeds from the event and his forthcoming documentary to the ANF COVID-19 Relief Fund that provides assistance to vulnerable communities in Nicaragua during the coronavirus outbreak. Diamanté Anthony Blackmon is the American Dream. Diamanté grew up in Nicaragua and came to America at ten years old, speaking very little English. Diamanté grew into Carnage – one of the most dominant superstar artists in the world. From pioneering the Trap genre, massive collaborations, and festival appearances in the dance world, to gold records with Lil Pump, Migos, Steve Aoki, and Mac Miller, few artists are able to move between genres like Carnage. The Las Vegas-based artist established himself as the reigning champion of hard bass and trap music with early hits. He was later one of the first artists to transition electronic music into hip-hop, rap, and urban styles. Before launching his label Heavyweight Records in 2017, Carnage put out hit after hit such as “I Like Tuh” with ilovemakonnen, ‘Bricks’ with Migos, ‘Down for Me’ and ‘Guala’ with G-Eazy, ‘Homie’ with Meek Mill and Yung Thug, ‘Learn How to Watch’ with Mac Miller and MadeInTYO and ‘iShyne’ with Lil Pump. Carnage has toured the world over and been a main stage artist at the biggest international festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra, EDC, and more! After taking a break from music and touring in 2018 to focus on his mental health, Carnage dove right back into it with his hits “Letting People Go,” and “Wait For Me” with G-Eazy and Wiz Khalifa. In partnership with the RAICES foundation, the music video for “Letting People Go” raised awareness for immigrants at the US / Mexico border and retraced Carnage’s families voyage into America, as covered by TIME and dozens of other outlets.

Update: Due to the increased demand of the May 30 date, tickets have already sold out. An additional ROAD RAVE date has been added for Phoenix on May 29, featuring Carnage and additional artists to be announced later. Tickets for the May 30 event can be purchased on www.TheRoadRave.com.

A Rockin’ Time at Gem & Jam Music Festival

Big Gigantic at Gem & Jam 2020

After one-year hiatus, Gem & Jam Music Festival returned to the Pima County Fairgrounds this past January 31 – February 2, 2020, for its 13th year. The festival boasted over 50 musical acts across four stages and three days. In addition to the jams, Gem & Jam participants had the option to engage in a variety of activities including health and wellness classes, drum circles, live painting demonstrations, and interactive art installs.

The festival coincides with the annual Tucson Gem and Mineral show, which provides attendees another venue of entertainment. Shuttles run from Gem & Jam to Tucson to encourage festival-goers to check out the world renowned mineral show happening just a short drive from the festival. With multiple locations and every type of mineral under the sun, it was easy to get caught up perusing the overloaded gem displays for a few hours.

Staying true to a rich Arizona tradition, minerals were a major focal point of the festival. From the stage names and stage design to the art and vendors, everything was all gem all the time. The Emerald Stage had huge rough cut quartz points adorning the stage, while the the indoor Onyx Stage had an iridescent faux crystal point backdrop that created a cave-like environment.

Alongside all those gems were a ton of jams! With four alternating stages, the lineup left the Santa Rita foothills ringing all weekend. Measured by sheer crowd energy, earlier acts that proved to be a hit included Dirtwire, Manic Focus, and The Floozies. As the sun dropped below the rolling hills and the desert temperatures dropped, the evening jams grew heavy and participants who braved the chilly evenings were rewarded by impressive closing acts by Tipper, Big Gigantic, Mersiv, and Buku. Mersiv brought massive sound and energy to the Onxy Stage while Tipper delivered glitch-hop beats to the tightly packed crowd at the Emerald Stage.

While the musical acts are the festival’s main focus, there were plenty of live painters, sculptors, and artists with a background in everything from clay, glass, and woodworking showcasing their art at Gem & Jam. Brad Rhadwood, most famous for his trippy animal designs painted on wood, completing a live painting over the course of the weekend that was then auctioned off. Rhadwood also had a larger piece displayed near the Emerald Stage accompanied by a projector which helped entice attendees to stop and gaze at his creation.

We got our rocks off checking out art, minerals, and grooving to great tunes at Gem & Jam and are excited for the return in 2021! For the full photo gallery, check our album on Facebook.

Afrojack, MK, NGHTMRE, Walker & Royce at 6th Annual Phoenix Lights

Phoenix Lights 2019 Girls, Photo by luiscolato.com

Phoenix, AZ – It began nearly six years ago when Hardwell, Zeds Dead, Robin Schulz, and more invaded Downtown Phoenix. From there the transmissions grew in frequency and strength, sending names like Above & Beyond; Big Gigantic; Claude VonStroke; Diplo; Eric Prydz; Green Velvet; Gucci Mane; Illenium; Kaskade; San Holo; Seven Lions; Tiesto; Travis Scott; Vince Staples; ZHU, and more. And just as things seemed to be getting back to normal, the skies lit up again #PHXL2020…

Afrojack: The ‘in your face’ Dutch DJ and producer, is known as much for his collaborations with Beyoncé, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, and Madonna as he is for the remix creations that have made him a festival favorite.

MK: This deep house, techno DJ’s career, is one of a journeyman, maintaining strong roots in Detroit while having worked with a diverse collection of major artists across hip-hop, R&B, and pop.

NGHTMRE: NGHTMRE’s resume hosts a slew of successful music and star-studded collaborations includinghis explorative “Magic Hour” EP with Pell the trippy “Another Dimension” with Dillon Francis “Save Yourself” with the Chainsmokers, “Like That” with Big Gigantic, and “TTM” with Wiz Khalifa and PnB Rock. His remixes of Ekali and ZHU’s “Blame” and Flosstradamus ft. Smokepurpp’s “MVP” are equally as compelling, as if everything NGHTMRE touches.

Walker & Royce: If nothing else can be said about this NYC-based duo, their sound is signature, producing a blend of dance-forward house that works well on the Dirtybird roster and has gained favor by DJs the world over.
